Quick Setup

Set Up in 3 Simple Steps

Getting started with iVCam takes less than 5 minutes. No technical knowledge required β€” just download, install, and connect.

1

Install the Windows Client

Download and install the free iVCam PC client on your Windows computer. It runs on Windows 7 SP1, 8, 10, and 11 β€” both 32-bit and 64-bit. The installer takes under a minute and requires no configuration.

2

Install the Mobile App

Download the iVCam app on your iPhone, iPad, or Android device from the App Store or Google Play. Both downloads are free. The app runs in the background so it does not interrupt your other phone activity.

3

Connect & Start Using

Make sure your phone and PC are on the same Wi-Fi network β€” they find each other automatically. Your phone instantly appears as a webcam source in Zoom, OBS, Teams, Discord, and every other webcam-enabled app. No IP address or manual setup needed. Prefer a wired connection? Plug in a USB cable for zero-latency, rock-solid stability.

What You Get with iVCam

Up to 4K Video Quality

Stream and record at resolutions up to 4K (3840Γ—2160) at 60 frames per second β€” far beyond what most USB webcams can offer. Your phone's camera sensor produces sharper detail, better low-light performance, and more accurate color than any budget webcam. Choose from 4K, 2K, 1080p, 720p, 480p, or 360p depending on your bandwidth and use case.

Wi-Fi & USB Connection

Connect wirelessly over Wi-Fi for total placement flexibility β€” position your phone anywhere in the room. Or plug in a USB cable for a wired connection with maximum stability and near-zero latency, ideal for professional streaming or recording sessions. Both connection modes are automatic; no manual IP configuration is ever required.

Background Removal & Effects

Remove or replace your background in real time with no green screen required. Choose from blur, bokeh, mosaic, or custom image and video backgrounds. Effects process entirely on-device and work seamlessly in Zoom, Microsoft Teams, OBS Studio, and any other app that uses the iVCam webcam source β€” no extra plugins needed.

Wireless Microphone

iVCam transmits high-quality audio from your phone's microphone directly to your PC alongside the video stream. Use your smartphone as a wireless microphone for video calls, podcasts, and recordings. Echo cancellation is supported on compatible devices, keeping your voice clear and free from feedback or background noise.

Multi-Camera Support

Connect multiple iPhones or Android phones to a single Windows PC at the same time. Each device registers as a separate webcam source, giving you independent control over every camera in OBS Studio, vMix, or any multi-source streaming setup. Perfect for streamers, event broadcasters, and content creators who need multiple angles without dedicated hardware.

Advanced Camera Controls

Take full manual control over your camera just like a DSLR: adjust exposure, ISO, white balance, shutter speed, and zoom with precision sliders. Switch between front and rear cameras, enable face beautify, toggle flash, and lock focus or exposure for consistent results across changing light conditions. All controls are accessible from the PC client as well as the mobile app.

FAQ

Download FAQ

Q

Is iVCam free to download?

A
Yes, iVCam is completely free to download and use on all platforms. The free version includes all core webcam features with a small watermark on the video and occasional ads. You can remove the watermark and ads by purchasing a license: Basic Annual at $7.99/year, Premium Annual at $12.99/year, or a one-time Permanent license at $24.99. See all pricing options.
Q

Does iVCam work on Mac?

A
iVCam does not have a native Mac desktop client. The Windows PC client is required to use your phone as a webcam on a desktop computer. If you have an Apple Silicon Mac (M1 chip or later), you can install and run the iOS version of iVCam through the App Store β€” but this does not provide the same full webcam integration as the Windows client. Read the full Mac guide.
Q

What Windows versions does iVCam support?

A
The iVCam Windows PC client is compatible with Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8, Windows 10, and Windows 11. Both 32-bit (x86) and 64-bit (x64) versions are available. We recommend downloading the 64-bit version for best performance on modern systems.
Q

Do I need to install both the PC client and the mobile app?

A
Yes β€” both components are required. Install the iVCam Windows client on your PC and the iVCam app on your iPhone or Android phone. The PC client registers a virtual webcam driver that all your video apps can use. The mobile app captures and streams video from your phone's camera to that driver. Both downloads are free.
Q

How do I connect my phone to my PC after downloading?

A
Place your phone and PC on the same Wi-Fi network, then launch iVCam on both devices. They discover each other automatically β€” no IP address entry or router configuration needed. If automatic discovery fails, you can enter your PC's IP address manually in the app. For a more reliable connection with zero packet loss, connect your phone to the PC via USB cable instead. Q

What apps work with iVCam after installation?

A
iVCam registers as a standard virtual webcam on Windows, so it works with any application that supports webcam input β€” including Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Skype, Discord, OBS Studio, XSplit, Twitch Studio, Streamlabs, vMix, Cisco Webex, and hundreds more. No per-app configuration is needed.
Q

Is there a difference between the Wi-Fi and USB connection methods?

A
Both methods work well, but USB is generally more stable and has lower latency. Wi-Fi is more convenient β€” your phone can be placed anywhere in the room without a cable. For casual video calls and streaming, Wi-Fi is usually sufficient. For high-resolution recording sessions or situations where connection stability is critical, a USB connection is recommended.
Q

Can I use iVCam with OBS Studio?

A
Yes. After installing the iVCam Windows client, your phone appears as a webcam source in OBS Studio. Add it as a 'Video Capture Device' in OBS and it works like any other camera. You can use multiple iVCam instances simultaneously for multi-angle streaming setups. See the full OBS setup guide.
Q

How do I remove the iVCam watermark?

A
The watermark is present in the free version of iVCam. To remove it, purchase any paid license from within the app or from the iVCam website. Once purchased, enter your license key in the PC client or restore your purchase in the mobile app. The watermark disappears immediately on all connected devices under the same account.
