Quick Setup

Install & Connect in 4 Steps

Setting up iVCam on Windows takes under 5 minutes. Follow these steps to get your phone working as a webcam.

1

Download & Install the PC Client

Download the iVCam Windows client (64-bit recommended) and run the installer. It installs a virtual webcam driver called 'e2eSoft iVCam' that appears in Device Manager under Imaging Devices. All webcam-enabled apps on your PC can use this driver. Installation takes under a minute and requires no configuration.

2

Install the iVCam Mobile App

Download the iVCam app from the App Store (iPhone/iPad) or Google Play (Android). The app is free. Once installed, open it and keep it on screen β€” it streams live video from your phone's camera directly to your PC over your local network or USB cable.

3

Connect via Wi-Fi (Automatic)

Make sure your phone and PC are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Launch the iVCam PC client and the mobile app. They detect each other automatically using Bonjour service β€” no IP address entry required. Within seconds, your phone's camera feed appears on screen and becomes active in all your video apps.

4

Or Connect via USB (More Stable)

For zero-latency, rock-solid video: connect your phone to the PC with a USB cable. For iPhone, iTunes must be installed. For Android, enable USB Debugging in Developer Options. iVCam will automatically switch to USB mode when it detects a USB connection β€” no extra setup needed.

What the Windows Client Can Do

4K, 1080p, 720p Video Output

Stream your phone's camera at up to 4K resolution and 60 frames per second. iVCam supports 4K, 2K, 1080p, 720p, 480p, and 360p. The output appears as a standard webcam source β€” choose any resolution that matches your streaming or recording requirements.

Background Removal (No Green Screen)

Remove or replace your background in real time using AI-powered segmentation. Choose from blur, bokeh, mosaic, or a custom image or video. Requires Windows 10 or later and a GPU with DirectX 12 support. Works in Zoom, Teams, OBS, and all other webcam apps automatically.

Wireless Microphone Input

Use your phone as a wireless microphone alongside the video feed. iVCam registers a separate 'e2eSoft iVCam' audio device on your PC that any recording app can use. Higher-quality mic hardware on modern smartphones often outperforms the built-in laptop microphone significantly.

Multi-Camera Support

Connect multiple phones to a single Windows PC simultaneously. Each device registers as an independent webcam source. Use separate instances of iVCam to manage each camera. Ideal for multi-angle streaming in OBS Studio or vMix without investing in dedicated hardware cameras.

Full Camera Control from PC

Adjust exposure, ISO, white balance, focus, and zoom directly from the PC client's Camera Settings window β€” no need to touch your phone. Switch between front and rear cameras, enable face beautify, toggle flash, and flip or mirror the video. Hardware decoding is enabled by default for low CPU usage.

Local Recording & Snapshots

Record video or take snapshots directly from the PC client. Files are saved to your local drive in MP4 format. No third-party recording software needed. You can also configure the output folder, file name prefix, and whether audio is recorded from the phone microphone or your PC's microphone.

Wi-Fi vs USB β€” Which Should You Use?

Wi-Fi Connection

Convenient
  • Completely wireless β€” place your phone anywhere in the room
  • Auto-discovery: no IP configuration needed
  • Ideal for casual video calls, Zoom, Teams, Google Meet
  • Dependent on router quality and network congestion
  • Slightly higher latency than USB

πŸ’‘ For the best Wi-Fi experience, connect your PC to the router with an Ethernet cable (while your phone stays on Wi-Fi). Make sure both devices are on the same frequency band (both 2.4 GHz or both 5 GHz).

USB Connection

Most Stable
  • Near-zero latency and rock-solid stability
  • Supports up to 1080p/60fps on USB 2.0
  • iPhone 15 Pro and later support USB 3.0 for even faster transfer
  • No router or network dependency
  • Requires a USB cable and iTunes (for iPhone)

πŸ’‘ For iPhone: install the desktop version of iTunes (not from Microsoft Store). For Android: enable USB Debugging in Settings > Developer Options.

Windows Installation FAQ

Q

What Windows versions does iVCam support?

A
The iVCam Windows PC client supports Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows 10, and Windows 11. Both 32-bit (x86) and 64-bit (x64) installers are available. We recommend downloading the 64-bit version for best performance on modern hardware.
Q

Does iVCam work on Windows 11?

A
Yes, iVCam is fully compatible with Windows 11. Download the 64-bit installer and run it β€” the setup process is identical to Windows 10. The virtual webcam driver (e2eSoft iVCam) is installed automatically and appears in Device Manager under Imaging Devices.
Q

Why can't my apps see the iVCam camera after installation?

A
First, check that the e2eSoft iVCam device appears in Device Manager > Imaging Devices. On Windows 10 and 11, go to Settings > Privacy > Camera and turn on 'Allow apps to access your camera'. If the iVCam driver is missing, reinstall the PC client. Some security software may block driver installation β€” temporarily disable it and reinstall if needed.
Q

Does iVCam need both a PC client and a phone app?

A
Yes β€” both components are required. The PC client installs the virtual webcam driver that all your video apps use. The phone app captures video from your phone's camera and streams it to that driver. Both downloads are free. Install the Windows client first, then install the iVCam app on your iPhone or Android device.
Q

How do I connect via USB on Windows?

A
For iPhone: install the desktop version of iTunes (from Apple's website, not the Microsoft Store), connect your phone with a USB cable, and make sure it appears in iTunes. For Android: enable USB Debugging in Settings > Developer Options, connect via USB, and select 'Transfer files (MTP)' when prompted. Once connected, iVCam automatically uses the USB connection for video transfer. See the full USB guide.
Q

Can I use iVCam with Zoom, Teams, or OBS on Windows?

A
Yes. After installing iVCam and connecting your phone, select 'e2eSoft iVCam' as your camera source in Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, OBS Studio, Discord, Skype, or any other webcam-enabled app. iVCam registers as a standard virtual webcam, so it works with virtually every program on Windows. OBS setup guide.
Q

How do I enable background removal on Windows?

A
Background removal requires Windows 10 or later and a GPU that supports DirectX 12. Compatible GPUs include NVIDIA GeForce GTX 900 series and above, AMD Radeon RX 400 series and above, and Intel 6th-generation integrated graphics (HD 500+) and above. In the PC client, open Settings and enable Background Removal, then choose your preferred effect: blur, bokeh, mosaic, or a custom image or video background.
Q

What should I do if the video is lagging on Windows?

A
Lag is usually caused by insufficient network bandwidth (Wi-Fi) or slow GPU decoding. To fix it: (1) Switch to a USB cable connection for maximum stability. (2) Reduce the video resolution to 1280x720 or lower. (3) Enable Hardware Decoding in Settings > Miscs if it is not already on. (4) Close other GPU-intensive programs. (5) Update your GPU drivers to the latest version. Wi-Fi troubleshooting guide.
Q

Is iVCam free to use on Windows?

A
Yes. The iVCam Windows client and mobile app are both free to download and use. The free version includes a small watermark on the video and occasional ads. To remove the watermark and unlock all features, upgrade to Basic Annual ($7.99/yr), Premium Annual ($12.99/yr), or the one-time Permanent license ($24.99). See all pricing options.
